Want to start skeptictexan.wordpress.com. WP response is it’s already taken. When going to skeptictexan.wordpress.com, response is that the blog has been removed. Why, then, cannot I use it (skeptictexan.wordpress.com)?

I’m sorry but reclaiming a deleted blog URL is not possible. It takes bypassing 3 warnings that blog deletion is irreversible and clicking a confirmation link in an email to delete a blog for good reason ie. deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
