Names translator

I’m trying to keep the original name of an author, but as she has a name a word that can be translated, the program always change the meaning. Is like if you are called Taylor, and the program chages for ‘Sastre’ in my language. How can I mark exceptions to this? Thanks.

Hi @assirics, that’s odd. Can you send a link to the affected site or post? We’ll take a look.
-
Hi.
Thanks.
I think I cant send to you the link as it isn’t published yet. And it won’t be published with this mistake…I wonder if I can change settings to stop translating everything… -
@assirics tell me the title of the draft, then, and if possible get a screenshot as well and put it in your media library. As staff I can access both.
-
Hi again.
I have resorted to putting an image with the necessary text in order to avoid its unnecessary translation. Anyway, the tittle is: Mans amb veu. Guia de cançons per al massatge infantil. Thanks. -
OK. A screenshot would have been helpful.
Also, we don’t automatically translate any of your content. Are you doing that with a widget or plugin?
-
Good morning,
How can I add a screenshot here? I don’t find the way.
What you say it’s possible. I see an icon (I’d like to add the screenshot also), and when I do mousover it shows: “enable translator”, which means that is not abe to translate. So I don’t understand…
I’ve been looking for widgets or plugins, but I don’t find any.
Thanks for your help. -
@assirics please upload it to your media library, under My Site > Media.
Does the same thing happen if you use another browser (such as Chrome) ?
-
-
@assirics Okay. Can you see if it does the same thing in explorer?
We don’t have anything built into our service that would attempt to translate a name, and I suspect it is coming from your browser.

Alright, we didn’t have enough information to help much, but my best guess is that you have some extension in Firefox that automatically translates for you. We’ll mark this as resolved for now, but if you decide you want to share more information (a link to the post, a screenshot, and trying another browser), we’ll help you troubleshoot then. Cheers :)
