namesaver

I have a domain name through GoDaddy. I want to point my WP site to that domain name.

I have contacted GoDaddy to initiate this and they are asking for my namesaver.

    1) Is this the correct course of action?
    2) If yes, where do I find my namesaver for my WP site?
    3) If not, what do I need to do in order to get my WP site switched to my GoDaddy domain?

    thank you,
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,

Could you please tell me the names of the WordPress.com site and the GoDaddy domain you wish to map? I see that you have a domain registered with us as well (relishthejourney.net), and wanted to make certain the two domains weren’t getting confused.

If you want to map a WordPress.com blog to your Domain, take a look at the link below. Take the time to watch the short video on the page. It simplifies the whole process and will take you step-by-step through Domain Mapping

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

Hi! So I think I messed up the sites. I have the http://www.relishtehjourney.wordpress.com initially and then bought http://www.relishthejourney.net

They are one and the same.

I want them to point towards http://www.drandrearyan.com which is at this point nothing but a blank go daddy page.

Does that make sense? I shall check out the link this afternoon to see if that works.

    thank you!

Hiya Andrea…this makes everything clear. Sweet!

First, you will need to upgrade to Domain Mapping between
    relishtehjourney.wordpress.com <—>drandrearyan.com/.

Once you do that, you can tell GoDaddy you would like to adjust your name servers to:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

After you’ve done that, you’ll pop back over to your WordPress.com dashboard and make drandrearyan.com your primary domain. Then, tada! Everything will work like clockwork.

That document I linked to will help you along the way:

I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes, or if you need further assistance.
