Namesco Email

  Hi all,

  I managed to map my domain (Namesco) to my new wordpress blog without any probs at all. win!

  Unfortunately email is not so simple … all I got was these instructions:

  “Changing nameservers will mean that we no longer provide your email service, to get your emails working at Namesco please contact your hosting provider and request that the ‘MX’ or ‘Mail exchange records’ are updated to –

  athena.hosts.co.uk
  hermes.hosts.co.uk “

  I have checked all the existing support pages for amending my DNS entries but I can’t exactly understand what my precise entry should be. Surely I must have to enter more than just the above two lines? And if so, what should I enter?

  Really appreciate any help anyone can offer me on this. Thanks so much :)

  Hi justjennifer,

  Sorry it took so long to respond.

  I’ve really been going around and around in circles with this thing, and I’m still at square one.

  Yes, that’s the document I read. I just can’t work out what to enter specifically or how it works for namesco.

  These instructions just swim around on the page for me :(

  I’ve been trying to get this work for a month, I don’t know what to do really.

  Any advice from anyone would be really appreciated, Thanks

  Domain issues are not my strong suite, but you have to get to get the MX record(s) from Namesco to begin with.

  Once you have those, you can follow the Support doc I linked to above to create a Custom DNS record here on WordPress.com.

  “…to get to get” may be a sign I need to get off the Internet already.

  Obviously that should have read “to get the MX records from Namesco”

  It’s not quite as simple as what you posted above:

  athena.hosts.co.uk
  hermes.hosts.co.uk

  There should be an MX something at the start there somewhere. Let me see if I can call in someone for domain help.
