nameserver change
-
Hi, recently I’ve bought domain with my name and 2 years personal programm but i gave up to have wordpress system, because just it didn’t suit my purpose so I got a refund. but I wanted to keep my domain -ranglee.com- but I checked to give up my domain. If you enter to my domain you can see below ‘You can’t get there from here (site_id mismatch error). This happens when an external blog (a self-hosted blog using the Stats plugin) is pointed to WordPress.com by DNS. If you are trying to migrate away from WordPress.com, please update your DNS to point the domain to your own server. Otherwise please contact WordPress.com support and explain what you were trying to do, what steps you took, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened. It’s probably Andy’s fault.’
So I’m using now Bluehost, I want to update my domain nameservers to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com
I’m looking forward to your response
Thank you! -
Hi there,
You can replace the WordPress.com name servers with Bluehost’s name servers. Here is a helpful guide on how to do it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/change-name-servers/

If you purchased a custom domain here at WordPress.com and then cancelled it within 48 hours it may well become available to purchase again elsewhere in a few days time. I have added a modlook tag to ask if a member of staff could advise you further.

Hi there,
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.
In this case your domain should be released by the end of the week at which point you should be able to register it with Bluehost. But at the moment you don’t own it, and it’s no longer registered, so you won’t be able to make any changes to it until it’s registered in your name again.
Thanks for helping out. In future please tag all threads related to expired or cancelled domains for staff. These are often time-sensitive, and not issues that a user can solve on their own.
If you haven’t yet, please have a look at our volunteer guidelines, here:
