Nameserver changes
-
Hi,
I changed my nameservers via my DNS host 48 hrs ago to stop pointing to my blog and now point to my online store (www.shantetenn.uk). I also created a subdomain using wordpress to redirect my blog to “blog.shantetenn.uk”
However I have used a global dns propogation tool and all my nameservers still point to wordpress? Do I need someone from wordpress to change the nameservers? Also when the nameservers update, will the sub domain also update for my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Do I need someone from wordpress to change the nameservers?
The domain is not registered with WordPress.com, only mapped, so you will need to change the nameservers over at the domain host.
Also when the nameservers update, will the sub domain also update for my blog?
I would make sure that your CNAME is also updated at the domain host. Once unmapped, the domain will no longer be connected to WordPress.com.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
The issue is that I updated the name servers 4 days ago and they still lead to my WordPress site. Also I would like my domain mapping subscription to change so that my sub domain is mapped instead. What should I do?

Hey there,
Who are you hosting your domain with? Your WHOIS info doesn’t indicate who the registrar is. I would contact them and make sure that they look at your nameservers settings – just to make sure that they’ve been inserted correctly. it shouldn’t take more than 72 hours for propagation to occur. So, if it has been 4 days, something is wrong.
Thanks!

Hi,
While I wait for a response. What should I do about my subdomain mapping? I would like my sub domain blog.shantetenn.uk to be the name that appears in the browser rather than just redirecting to my WordPress but with the WordPress url.

The same registrar you are contacting in regards to shantetenn.uk should also be able to assist you with adding a CNAME record for your subdomain. Once you do that, you should be able to successfully map the subdomain to your WordPress.com site. Our support page provides instructions on how to do so:
