    Hi there,
If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/
You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that purchased the upgrade.

Can you help me please then? What do I need to write for the DNS records as it is different to the support.

    Record formats
Five types of records are allowed: MX, TXT, CNAME, A, and SRV. We use a minimalistic format for each record type, shown below. TTL is set automatically. When validating, we only check that your records can be safely saved.

    MX <pref> <host>
    TXT <text>
    CNAME <subdomain> <host>
    A <subdomain> <IP>
    SRV <_service._protocol> <priority> <weight> <port> <domain>
    Sample records
    MX 10 MAIL1.EXAMPLE.COM.
    MX 20 MAIL2.EXAMPLE.COM.
    TXT v=spf1 include:mail.example.com ~all
    CNAME autodiscover EXCHANGE.EXAMPLE.COM.
    A webmail 1.2.3.4
    SRV _xmpp-client._tcp 10 10 5269 example.com.

    Hi there,

I see that this username is not currently the owner of the domain. It is in another account. As timethief mentioned, you would need to be the owner of this domain to make these changes. If you are, please log into that account and follow the directions to change the nameservers here:

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

I hope this helps! If you are still having trouble, please let me know!
