Hi everyone!
My name is Francesco from Italy and I buyed a personal domain (.com) on dominiofaidate.com
At the moment I chose the wordpress basic plan and I knew that to transfer my personal domain on wordpress it will need to wait still one month. In meantime I’d like setting up nameservers as dominiofaidate staff suggested me. They still suggested me to request nameservers to WordPress staff.
Could you help me, please?

– Yes, there is some time limit for transferring a domain from one registrar to another. Till then you can use the domain you purchased on dominiofaidate.com with WordPress.com by mapping that domain with the WordPress site.

Hello there, in addition to what our forum volunteer @shubhamgmath mentioned, in order to map a domain to a WordPressdotcom site, you need to have a WordPressdotcom site. The site linked to your username has been deleted. What is the WordPressdotcom site you are planning to map your domain to?
Mapping a domain you purchased elsewhere to a WordPressdotcom site also requires a paid upgrade plan here on WordPressdotcom, as mentioned in the support guide that @shubhamgmath linked to. Here’s more about pricing https://wordpress.com/pricing/

I need a basic plan. So, did I have to pay the upgrade to mapping my domain to wordpress? It wasn’t free? -
Hi there
Custom domain can only be added or mapped to the site under personel premium or business plans so if you want to add the custom domain then you need to upgrade your site from basic plan to personel plan

I think I found a solution to my problem. I would like to choose the personal plan (€ 48) and transfer my domain to wordpress. However, the transfer will take place within a month or so.
In this regard, I have two questions:
1) In addition to € 48, will there be additional fees for the transfer?
2) At the time of transfer, will my domain be managed completely by wordpress?Thank you in advance for your availability. I hope to have an answer in a short time so I can start working on my site.

No, the cost of your plan includes one free domain which can be used either to register a new domain, or to map or transfer a domain from another provider. There will only be an additional cost if you want to add a second domain to the site.
If you add the domain mapping upgrade for now, you should still be able to transfer the domain for free a month from now.
2) At the time of transfer, will my domain be managed completely by wordpress?
A domain transfer moves the domain registration from your current provider to us, so we will become your domain provider and you’ll renew the domain with us going forward.

Sorry to jump in, not sure if this is the right place or should have started a new thread, but since it’s somehow related, I’ll try.
Just wanted to let you know that on the duplicate of this thread rightly closed here, yesterday before replying, when checking for any duplicate or older threads on the member profile, this thread was not appearing (there was only one thread). Since it’s the second time it’s happening to me and it may be something that could affect other users and volunteers of the forum, I thought it may be worth reporting.

You can map your domain immediately and start working on your site. When you do the transfer that will happen completely behind the scenes – someone looking at your site won’t even know there’s a domain transfer in progress.
In future rather create a new thread to report an issue like this, please.

Did you check at that link or somewhere else? If you checked that link, it may have been a glitch – the forums are in the process of being upgraded, so we might be seeing a few of those over the next week or two.

That’s the link I checked, and as I previously mentioned the only thread present on the user profile was the one I replied on (it happened in the past I replied to duplicate, so I always have an extra care in doing so) but a software upgrade makes perfect sense as an explanation for that glitch, thanks (scrolling the forum I also noted there is another post where something similar happened already, so yes, I guess we will just have to deal with it :)).

Hopefully the upgrade will be done soon and we’ll have a whole new bunch of glitches and bugs to entertain us :)
