Nameservers

I don’t even bank with that institution anymore. There’s no way to retrieve any transaction information.
All I have to do is remove my hosting from WordPress and the issue would be resolved, correct?

What about solving it by pointing the domain name directly to the email provider where you bought the domain instead of routing via WordPress.com? You can’t edit domain records here because the site doesn’t have a paid plan, but you can edit them where you purchased the domain. Remove the name servers at Dreamhost that point to WordPress.com and set MX records right at the registrar? Then you can get your emails again, I’d think.

That’s a great suggestion, @darciemg
The domain, corey-wright.net, is not registered with us, it was only mapped here. So if you log in at your domain provider, change the name servers to point the domain back to them, and then set up the MX records for your email on that end, the email address will start working again. Then you’ll be able to reset your password and log into the account to manage your other upgrades.
