Nameservers not visible in Edit Domain options menu

  • Unknown's avatar

I would like to edit the nameserver of my domain so it can point to a self hosted wordpress platform, but keep the domain renewal with wordpress.com

The nameservers are not present when I select My Domain > Select the domain > select Edit

Can anyone shed some light as to why they aren’t on the menu on the left?

    Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Might have something to do with the name being registered with Godaddy – you need to change the name servers at Godaddy

If you REALLY have another domain name registered here use these instructions

Note: you need to be logged in as the account that owns the registration to change it

    Hi,

Thank you for your response, I was made aware by my client, that the domain was registered through wordpress.com. It’s the first time I’ve worked with wordpress.com so a little sketchy on how you do what and where.

Even logged in with the creators details, doesn’t offer the option of the nameservers to be edited, yet my client is adamant they didn’t purchase it and then point to the wordpress site.

When wordpress purchase a domain on a clients behalf do they use GoDaddy?? If they don’t, then I know my client must be wrong and forgotten they did it… if that makes sense.

ps. not sure what you mean about ‘REALLY’ having another domain, sorry.
