nameservers update for mygutsy.com
-
Hi Support,
I read the instructions for the domain name nameservers update but none of them are valid.
It says “Start by logging in to your domain manager, under Settings -> Domains in your dashboard.” well.. guess what. My Settings dashbord does not have the Domains section.
Please advise ASAP. We are in the middle of the website migration and need to update the nameservers ASAP.

I called wild west (domain registrar ) and they said I need to get the info from wordpress. so since the button doesn’t work and there is no actual contact info..i am lost! how does everyone else change hosts?
-
This site http://www.mygutsy.com is a wordpress.org install and you are posting to the wrong support forum. You need to post to http://wordpress.org as we only provide support for free hosted wordpress.com blogs here.
For clarity read > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ -
If you are moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org then see here please > domain management http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/ > update nameservers http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/#update-nameservers

We Volunteers don’t have any idea when Staff will get to this thread. There are many threads flagged for their attention that were flagged days before yours was and all of those people have time constraints just as you do.

so since the button doesn’t work
When buttons don’t work it’s usually a browser issue.
Are you using IE9 in compatibility mode? If so that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported.
Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/
Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/
logging in using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/If those don’t work then do you have another browser you can try?
-
I have no idea what browser. but the guy at website movers could not click the button either?
-
oh this one
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_1) AppleWebKit/534.48.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Safari/534.48.3

I have tried on 3 different computers and the button does not work!! some one has to fix this. can you click it?
-
No I cannot click it for you — sorry. You will just have to be patient while you wait for Staff to sort this for you.
-
But the button to get a new domain doesn’t work for anyone! So how do you expect anyone to get a new blog?

The domain mygutsy.com is registered through us, and the nameservers can be changed following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
However, the domain is not registered under your account. You’ll need to be logged in as the user who owns the domain in order to change the nameservers.

SO can I do this step? or who own my domain? I am hosted with blue host and trying to convert to WP engine and I need the wildest login info..

Hello,
This is Tin from WP Engine, writing on behalf of mygutsy. I wanted to contribute to the thread to see if I can provide a little bit more clarity on the situation.
She currently has a .org installation with bluehost with the domain name mygutsy.com, whom Automattic is the registrar.
Caroline is looking to gain access to edit the DNS for her domain name to point to her new WP Engine account. However, she doesn’t have a .com blog hosted, which voids the Settings -> Domain instructions.
The button issue she is referencing is the ability to purchase a new domain name, which I can confirm is not working.
I tried to establish a new blog install on her .com account, but it doesn’t show her domain name the setting section. Caroline is at a lost at this point and I wanted to help out where I can. We are trying to figure how to edit the DNS of her domain name that is purchased with you. She does has a receipt for the purchase if you need that for ownership purposes.
Please let us know if you need any other information. Thanks again for your patience. :)

mygutsy, you need to change the nameservers following the guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/ , but you need to be logged in as the user who purchased the domain, carolinelunger.
