Naming categories
-
I have 4 categories. For example, one is named as Food. But when one clicks on the “Food” link in the home page, another page opens and the heading appears as : “Category – Food”. I want to just be food. Also, every post that I write, automatically goes to a main page, in my site, I have titled this “All posts” and then it goes to the category I have selected. I want each post to appear only once.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @richa330gmailcom ,
Okay, let me see what we can do.
another page opens and the heading appears as : “Category – Food”. I want to just be food.
Unfortunately, what you want cannot be achieved easily. Themes automatically add the words “Category” or something similar to category pages.
One suggestion I have, though, is that you create a new page and use the Display Posts Shortcode to style the page closer to what you are after. There are a few steps involved with this solution, but if you are interested, I’d be happy to walk you through it.I want each post to appear only once.
This can be achieved easier. Would you like posts to appear on the “All Posts” page or on each category page? If you want posts to appear in the category pages and not on the “All Posts” page, then you can change that by following these steps and removing the “All posts” link from your menu.
- Click on “My Sites” at the top-left of your screen and then choose “Customize”.
- Click “Menus” > “Primary”.
- Click on “All posts”. At the bottom of the box that opened up, you will find the word “Remove”. Click that.
- Click “Publish” at the top of the screen.
I hope this helps. Feel free to write back if you are still having issues. All the best!
