Natural Theme Image Sizing
-
Hi all
I just revamped my blog and am pretty happy with it. I’m using the natural theme and I’ve set my “Featured Image” dimensions so that they fill the homescreen as per the instructions.
However, when you scroll down the page to the 3 horizontal posts the images no longer fit the preview box. I’m not sure how to get around this? Do I need to upload a new image once the post is no longer new and featured? Is there some code I can use?
Any familiar with Natural able to help?
Thanks

Hi there, since you’ve opened a different thread about this previously: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/featured-image-issue-natural-theme/; do you still need help with this, or is it all fixed already?

Hi, yes I do still need help. The first question was on the featured image and this is on the preview image (you can see a theme of where I struggle!). First issue is fixed, this one is ongoing.
Thanks

Hi Scott, the theme is cropping those images (you can see this by opening them in a new tab) so there’s no way to gracefully show the full image in those boxes without writing a child theme.
Also, please bear in mind, featured images on blog posts will be cropped to various shapes for social media purposes, too, so even if you were to go to the trouble to change this, you’d still run into cases where the images are cropped.
If the images must not be cropped, I’d recommend inserting them as media in the articles, then choosing a different images for the featured images — ones that will work even when cropped.
