Can anyone help? My navigation bar has suddenly moved from horizontal top to left vertical column, how could that happen? Now I can’t ven see my header… How can I get back to my top horizontal navbar? Thanks everyone

I see the bar where it is supposed to be using Firefox, but I know that someone else reported a very strange header issue as well. Perhaps they’re related?

Support will reopen in a couple of hours and hopefully they’ll fix it for you.

Very nice-looking blog, btw. Now I’m hungry!

Thank you! I really do hope someone is going to fix that for me otherwise I have no clue where to get started…
    Maybe someone else does…
Thanks again, let’s see what happens.

in explorer (still, a lot of people use it)
the header is terrible: it even closes
the part of the blog itself!

I’m experiencing the same problem as of about an hour ago. Also using Explorer. I notice that the nav bar is in the right place when I click on other pages, but not on my blog, The Damian Daily.

my nav bar is playing up as well.

it is in the right place but is acting strange – i.e. the menus dropping down

Me too! I have to use IE at work and my nav bar has gone all weird and to the left… please, someone, put it back! :S

Same thing started happening to me this afternoon, though the effect changes according to which other WordPress blog I look at. On my own, the nav bar links are pushed to one side. On another I’ve been reading (http://leaderswedeserve.wordpress.com) the links are squashed in the middle. Something to do with the different templates we’re using?

There are it seems still some lingering issues from the downtime the other day and I’m certain staff is working on them. Hopefully things will settle down today.

    I am using IE.
I find that the new navigation bar is BAD.
I love the old ones. Can you give back to me.
    Thank you.

My blogs are all wonky too, the dashboard nav bar has fallen to the side and a big blue banner hides half of my title. I’m assuming the powers that be are aware and it should be fixed sometime.

    What browser versions please?

  • Unknown's avatar

When I’m logged in and viewing my sites, my dashboard navigation bars (for both of my blogs) are now in the middle, instead of on top, they’re all wonky, and my blog names are both hidden too. I’m using Internet Explorer.

I’m using IE here, whatever the latest version is . . . sorry I’m not sure which one. I use Netscape at home but I don’t know if that’s affected the same way.

I have no idea if this will help or not, but log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, close the browser, relaunch it and then try again to see if it clears up.

IE6: Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab: In the “Temporary Internet files” section click on the “Delete Files…” button to clear the cache. Click on “Delete Cookies…” to clear cookies.

    Clear Cookies IE7 Vista:
    1. Exit IE 7, and then exit any instances of Windows Explorer.
    2. Click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then press ENTER.
    3. On the General tab, click Delete under “Browsing History” in the Internet Properties dialog box.
    4. In the “Delete Browsing History” dialog box, click Delete Cookies.
    5. In the “Delete Cookies” dialog box, click Yes.

Clear Cache IE7 Vista : Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab, next to “Temporary Internet Files” click “Delete files.”

Clear Cookies IE7 XP: Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab, click “Delete…” button, and in “Cookies” section click “Delete cookies…”

Clear Cache IE7 XP : Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab, click “Delete…” button, and in “Temporary Internet Files” click “Delete files…”

    Firefox (Windows):

Clear Cookies: Tools menu > Options > Privacy, click on cookies, click on view cookies, click either on the individual cookies you want to delete, or click on “remove all cookies” button to remove them all.

    Firefox (Mac):

Clear Cookies and/or Cache: Tools menu > Clear Private Data… select and deselect the options you want and then click “Clear Private Data Now.”

    Safari (Mac):

Clear Cache: Safari menu > Empty Cache
Clear Cookies: Safari menu > Security tab, press “Show Cookies”. Highlight the ones you want to delete (cmd-click to select more than one) and click “Remove” or click “Remove all if you wish to clear all of them.

Hello sacredpath… I tried what you suggested, but it didn’t help.

  • Unknown's avatar

That didn’t work for me either.

Oh well, it was worth a try. It sometimes solves such issues.
