Navigation and instruction issues

Hello.
I have been using wordpress.org for years with no issues. I recently started a new site on wordpress.com and i am having lots of problems.
First of all, all of the instructions and literature provided do not seem to correspond to the current version of wordpress.com making them basically useless.
For example, I’m having an issue that my navigation menu isn’t working. When clicked, it doesn’t bring up the other site pages and when I try to edit the navigation menu to add more pages to it there’s no way to do so. All of the instructions suggest I go to “appearance” then “customizer” – but “customizer” doesn’t exist on the current version of wordpress.com. There’s also a sitewide pop up that says I can disable a store notice using the customizer but the option to disable it also doesn’t exist.
I went to the “editor” instead of customizer but the options didn’t exist there either. Please help. I’ve spent countless hours designing the site and now it’s essentially useless without functional navigation

The only valid instructions and documentation for the wordpress.com platform are over here on our site, https://wordpress.com/support/. All other information you find on the internet is for the open source wordpress.org which functions sometimes different.

I can see three items in your navigation and they all function as expected.
