Navigation block query
-
I need help with the navigation blog within my content.
I add the block then add a name to the menu. When I want to add external links as sub menus then it displays the entire URL.
How do I mask the URL but only show the name I want to be seen.
My menu supposed to look like this
Pick a plan drop down
Semrush
Ahrefs
I need it to look like this
But when I enter the URL it displays the URL. I want it to say semrush, not semrush.com/pricing
When they click on it then it must take them to semrush pricing plans.
Even when I go into the gear icon and add a title to the link, the links stays the URL. It doesn’t only display the title I want.
When I add internal links then it only displays the title of my link, but with external links it displays the URL, not the title I entered in the block editor.
Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to do this?
I want to direct users to an external page but I don’t want it to display the entire URL. Only the title I want.WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For that, build the menu via the standard Menus interface: https://wordpress.com/support/menus/
In there, you can add more item types than just you pages, like custom links.
Then, when you add the Navigation block, just select the menu you just created.

Hi Mac.
So you saying I must create a new menu, add the links to it, then in the navigation block just choose the new menu? -

That doesn’t work.
I did that and it only shows like a menu bar.
This is what I did.The menu name should be
Pick your tool Here drop down
Semrush
AhrefsI add a new menu
Pick your tool Here
Then add the links semrush and Ahref’s
Then go to my navigation block and add existing menu
I choose… Pick your tool Here, then is is how it looksSemrush Ahrefs
Unless I create a category named pick your tool Here….add that to my menu then make the semrush and Ahref’s a drop down within the menu itself….then add existing menu to my navigation block and it should come out right

What I said worked.
I just added my drop down menu name as a category then aligned the links under and right to turn out as a drop down, same way I make my main menu names, and it worked like a charm.
So when I add my secondary menu with the links in the navigation block then all I see is my category name as a drop down then my links within the drop down.Problem solved. Thank you
