Need a Refund
-
Greetings. When My web domain renewed this year I attempted to reach out to WordPress to get a refund as I no longer had access to my WordPress account. I attempted to reach out several times but received no such response. I finally managed to get in today after many days of trial and error. Is it possible to get a refund for this year’s renewal, given the circumstances?

Hi @bennyjackson2, can you share where you sent the earlier requests so we can take a closer look? Let us know how you were reaching out, whether you have ticket number or link to a forums post, etc. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the reply back. I always used some sort of online submission form which always went unanswered. I would get a “We we look into this and get back to you in 24 hours” type of response. I did this on 2-3 separate occasions over the last couple of months. Unfortunately I’m not seeing an email trail, but will continue to scour. Is there a way that we may correspond offline in order to preserve anonymity?
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

It might be worth mentioning that I am also in correspondence with “Yuki – Happiness Engineer” who just now denied my request for a refund. I sent an inquiry requesting that my account be recovered and a refund, only to finally figure out how to get in. Apparently this is grounds for a no refund? I do plan on working with WordPress in the future and I don’t want this episode to sour that. I had attempted to resolve with WordPress shortly after I detected the autopayment and then a couple of times thereafter. I don’t believe I should have to eat this as it fell within the refund window.

I am truly baffled. I did receive an email notification that my message was sent to WordPress for this last inquiry, but I have no such thing for the others. I’m not fibbing here. There are two other email addresses that my previous inquiries could be associated with, but I don’t want to willingly give those up on a public forum. Is there another channel with which I can get this resolved?
Thanks for your time.

Hi @bennyjackson2, if you’re in correspondence with a happiness engineer (is that under another account?) you can share the email addresses there.
We have a 14 day refund policy that’s pretty strict on the deadline, but if you ask for a refund for any reason within that time, we grant it. It would just need to come from the account that owns the site. We would have responded asking you to log into the correct account if needed.

Thanks supernova. The challenge that I had encountered was that I had misplaced the email address associated with the account and was forced to correspond with a different email address. I made it clear in my inquiries what was happening but nobody ever got back to me.
I shared this information with the happiness engineer and am awaiting a response. Thanks for trying to assist. I get that it’s complicated and I am kicking myself for having not paid closer attention, however I did provide due diligence in getting it resolved and I hope that WordPress is willing to do the same to a loyal customer.

Hi there,
I’ve found the ticket where we’re already helping you. Please follow up there as Billing issues are better handled via email and not in this public forum.
