Need a refund but it won't let me

  Hello,

  Today I purchased my domain name through WordPress as a .com, but I’ve realised my mistake. I should have bought a .org because I need plugins for my site.
  However, when I went to cancel & refund, a pop up said “Domains registered on WordPress.com cannot be deleted here. You must contact Support and request deletion.” I’ve tried to find a way to contact support but I can’t. Can anybody please help me?

  Hi kurtsayswhat,

  Be aware that you will be able to keep your .com domain name and use it on WordPress.ORG. You will have to host your website yourself though.
  Here are some recommended WordPress.ORG web hosting:

  You will also need to move your domain. Please refer to the following support page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  Hi heliodore,

  Thanks heaps for that information! I’m a total noob at this stuff so I may need to ask another question for clarity if that’s okay?

  Since I started my blog on WordPress.com and purchased my domain name there rather than starting my blog on WordPress.org, am I able to keep my domain name but transfer over to WordPress.org without having to cancel the domain name and buy a new one from WordPress.org?

  Also, when I do transfer over, am I supposed to transfer my Primary Domain which is kurtsayswhat.com, or my Default Blog Address which is kurtsayswhat.wordpress.com?

  Sorry, I’m a bit clueless at this kind of thing :P

  You will be able to keep your domain, no worries about that!

  The domain you will transfer is kurtsayswhat.com (kurtsayswhat.wordpress.com cannot be anyway!).

  Hi there,

  @Helidore is correct. You can use your domain with your WordPress.org blog and yet keep it registered with us here at WordPress.com. Alternatively, you can transfer the domain to your new host after it is registered with WordPress.com for 60 days:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
