Need Account Recovery Assistance
-
I set up my blog years ago before a traumatic event occurred in my life. I’ve been trying to recover access to my blog to continue from where I left off.
My email address is still the same, but my phone number has changed, and I can’t make it past the last step in the verification process. While jumping through hoops to resolve this, I arrived at this forum and had to register a new account with a new email address because trying to start a new account with my old email didn’t work (well, duh!)
The phone number I used when I initially registered then (over 10 years ago by now) was 604.679.6045. It’s no longer active – for me, at least; if it is for someone else, then whoever has it is probably wondering why they’ve been getting notifications from you. I was still living in Vancouver then, and I don’t remember if I provided my physical address then, but I can do so if you request.
I have tried finding the authentication app on the Google Play store, but it seems unavailable through a search. I vaguely remember using it and downloading it on a phone I haven’t owned in a long time.I do, however, still have the original graphics that I used to brand my blog and have recently adapted them as a design applied to products on Society6 –

I’m not sure how much you would be willing to go to the length of inspecting source Illustrator graphics to verify the authenticity of my design. Still, it would be pretty difficult to replicate the design without the layered and semi-transparent vectors I used in creating it. The design itself appears somewhat unique – insofar as these types of abstraction designs are concerned.
I’ve also used that particular design in other branding efforts like LinkedIn:

At any rate, I would like to revive an account I’m sure you can easily verify has been dormant for a long time because I’ve been adapting my 20,000 answers on Quora to articles I’ve begun posting on Medium.

https://www.quora.com/profile/Antonio-Amaral-1/I only recently remembered I had created this blog when I began digging up previous branding initiatives of mine – which led me to my about.me site:
http://about.me/antonioamaral
That’s where I got the link to my blog here on WordPress.
I did have a fully qualified domain name registered at the time, “kree8r.com,” but that’s expired.I had also back-linked to my WordPress blog via “gravatar.”
http://en.gravatar.com/kree8r
but this link is to my now defunct “kree8r.com” address.I hope this long explanation will be sufficient evidence to authenticate my ownership of a blog currently populated by mostly curated content and thus has no real value to anyone else.
I doubt anyone else would go to this extreme to recover an otherwise valueless blog… but who knows? People can be surprising… although I can’t fathom how anyone else would want to fraudulently represent me in taking control of a blog I barely began over 10 years ago.
I’m happy to provide whatever evidence you need of my identity to authenticate ownership of this blog.
Please let me know if I can pick up where I left off. I’m basically trying to recover from my trauma. I am in a position of trying to re-establish an online presence that I can leverage to monetize my creative efforts and survive off them.
If you can’t restore my access to this blog,
I would appreciate it if you could release my email address so I can recreate it from scratch because that’s my preferred address for conducting my formal business activities. The one I used to make this post is a trash email address I use to funnel spam into.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance.

The solution is very simple: instead of the 2FA-code you get on your phone, you must use one of the backup codes you got when you set up 2FA and you had to print out and store on a safe place.

Hi there! I’ve sent an email to the address on file for the account to which you are trying to regain access. The subject line is “About your WordPress.com account”.
Please reply to that email to continue, as we cannot discuss account recovery details in this forum.
