Need Advice
-
Hello all, I just recently started my blog (beautyfromheartache.com) and would like any input you have. You can be as harsh as you want, but try to make it more of constructive criticism. My goal is to help people across the world as it is my passion and share my story. I’m also attending fashion school so I wanted to insert my passion for that also.
If there is any advice you have on services I can use to better my blog I would love that too!
Thanks in advance!

What’s your blog evaluation budget please?
I may be able to work you into my client list. -
1. There is no blog linked to your username and you did not post the blog’s URL starting with http://
Here’s how to link your username to another blog registered under the same username account Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Primary Blog. Where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
The change is not retroactive. Thereafter every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
2. If you expect free advice on what’s normally a paid consultant’s work then read what follows.
The worst thing any new blogger can do is to obsess about stats and fail to:
1. publish unique high quality content frequently;
2. comment meaningfully on blogs with similar content.Comment meaningfully on many on other blogs with similar content, knowing that this is the slowest traffic period of the year.
See these for Staff tips:

http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/09/30/traffic-dos-and-donts-a-checklist/If you want to increase traffic then don’t listen to anyone who professes there are passive ways of doing that. Increasing traffic to a blog is hard work. If you want your blog to rank well in search engine results then that begins with creating and publishing original content ie. unique content that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet.

Two ways of attracting like-minded subscribers are (1) commenting meaningfully and frequently on blogs with similar content and (2) being active on social networking sites.

If you are using a WordPress.com theme good SEO is a given. However, going beyond the theme what the blogger has done within that structure is worth evaluating. Whether you write informative, persuasive or controversial content learning how search engines work, and how to apply basic SEO to you content will benefit your blog as it will increase traffic from targeted readers. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/10/21/two-seo-videos-for-bloggers/

I see you just linked your username to a deleted blog. You will have to use my instructions above to link it to an active blog you set as your “primary” blog.
teengirlstuff.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site. -
Thanks, I have a website linked to wordpress and the directions you showed me do not apply to my dashboard. I paid for a website and technically it’s not a wordpress.com free blog. It’s a paid domain. I am a college student and therefore my budget is very low, but I appreciate any help you have to offer. Thanks :)

If you have a free blog being free hosted by WordPress.com you can have it on your own domain by purchasing a domain mapping upgrade. You can even purchase the domain through WordPress.com. You have a free blog that’s being free hosted by WordPress.com. Read what’s at the link I post below and know that my blogs are also on domains and are also free hosted by WordPress.com. Purchasing a domain mapping changes nothing but the URL.
Domain mapping – Important Notes Before Upgrading
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgradingWhat is the URL of the blog in question?

If you are referring to a WordPress.ORG install then you are posting to the wrong support forum. In that case if you had posted the URL I would not have typed all that you find above because we do NOT provide support here at WordPress.ORG sites here at WordPress.COM.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

For god’s sake, the next time you ask a question, post the link to the actual blog it refers to. From what you’ve said we still can’t tell if it’s a WP.org install or a WP.com install with a custom domain.

@raincoaster
There are no gods (no proof – pouf! no grounds for superstitious beliefs). That said not to worry as those those who use the searchbox in the future will find all these links to my posts. LOL :D If this sub-forum is going to be used for this purpose then yee haw! I’m up for it. -
Since we’re gonna be snarky about this, I did post the website. It’s beautyfromheartache.com. So quick to find fault and prove yourselves are we?
-
Oh no! My bad. I’m so sorry. It was not an active link and I’m visually challenged so I missed seeing it. I do apologize.
