Need assistance to delete my blog
-
I am the owner of a small business in Germany and need to delete an old blog we used in the past as a sandbox before building our current website.
Unfortunately nobody knows the user account or email address anymore which was used to create the blog.
But the blog contains (incomplete) information about me, our location and our business, which is similar to the one on our current website.
I can also provide official documents to proof my identity and me being the owner of the business at the in the blog mentioned address.I tried the Account Recovery process first, but it insists on needing information I don’t have anymore.
Obviously this is not about the blog connected to this account I am using right know to write this post, because we don’t know the account name for the blog in question anymore.
I would appreciate it if somebody of the staff would get in touch with me, so I can provide you with the blog address details and necessary documents to proof my identity.

Hi there,
Unfortunately nobody knows the user account or email address anymore which was used to create the blog.
If you knew the email used to create the blog, a member of staff could have been able to send an email to the address and take you through the next steps for recovery.
I tried the Account Recovery process first, but it insists on needing information I don’t have anymore.
If you don’t have any proof of ownership, it won’t be possible to help you gain access to the blog.
I have tagged this thread with modlook for a staff to respond to you. Please be patient and you will be attended to shortly. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question I have done this already.

Hi there,
The only option to regain access to the site is our account recovery process. We cannot give you access to the site or delete it unless you’re able to verify ownership. We do not make any exceptions to this.
We can only accept the forms of verification required on the Account Recovery form. Proof of identification cannot be used for account recovery purposes, as we never asked for your personal details when you created the account.

Hi Kokkieh,
thank you for taking the time to reply to my post! I fully understand, that you have to protect your users website against random claims.
In this case though, it is quite clear that the website is created by us. It is targeting a German audience and thus has to fulfill German legal requirements (as every commercial website in Germany has to do).
One of those requirements is a mandatory site notice that has to state various information including the site owner, his name and address. Our website does exactly that, so it officially states, that it is owned by us/me.
So proof of identification in conjunction with the site notice information should be enough to proof ownership.
By looking at the website, it is also quite clear, that we abandoned the development process after about 20 minutes, so it is miles away from anything finished and there is really no useful information on the site.
In case you agree to take a look at the website, I would be happy to send you the website address by PM or any other method you require.

Information appearing on a site is not evidence of ownership. It only means someone who knows the information had access to the site at one time or another. I can use that information on the site and copy it to a brand new site. That will not give you an ownership claim on the new site I create either.
We can only accept unique information that we provided to the account owner at signup or during an upgrade purchase and that cannot possibly be connected to more than one site on our system. We have these measures in place to prevent unauthorised access to sites via social engineering, and we do not make any exceptions to this.
I’ve sent you an email to discuss the one option that might be available, but we cannot give you access to the site under any circumstances unless you can provide the verification information we require.
