I exported the xml file from reclaimmylife.wordpress.com but when I go into blog.reclaimylife.com and import it gives me a 500 server error.
blog.reclaimylife.com is a wordpress hosted site on godaddy.
I really need help with this… it is effecting my business, is anybody out there?

For your godaddy WordPress.ORG install – see below
The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

Hi,
The WordPress export file (XML) needs to be imported into your self–hosted (WordPress.org) blog at Godaddy in Tools -> Import -> WordPress of that dashboard.
You can see this support page to step you through the process of moving your blog to a WordPress.org instance:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
As we only support blogs hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new blog — including the importing of the file — must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com blog to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if it’s right for you:

Hi Bryan – did that, when I try to import the xml file under the godaddy wordpress site dashboard I get that 500 server error.

is there any way to just get a back up copy of my wordpress.com site? godaddy is telling me I need the sql db & wp-content folder.
-
I’m sorry to hear that. Since we only support the blogs hosted at WordPress.com, you can register for free at the WordPress.org support community and post about this import issue.

should I sign out of blog.reclaimylife.com?
No, you need to upload the import file, which you generated from http://reclaimmylife.wordpress.com/ , to Tools -> Import in your self–hosted blog dashboard:

I selected:
Import author: nnadine (nnadine)
or create new user with login name:
