need backup copy of my blog

Yes, please take a screenshot and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look.
-
Also, please try splitting your export file into multiple files.
In the Tools -> Export screen of your WordPress.com blog, select Posts and choose a date range of a few months at a time. I’ve annotated a screenshot here:
http://u.narf.me/image/2X0I0m422800
So, export the posts from:
- April 2012 – July 2012
- December 2012 – March 2012
- July 2011 – November 2011
Then, export Pages in another file, and try importing each one at a time at blog.reclaimylife.com

when I exported posts apr12 thru jul12 it gave me a xml file cannot be displayed msg. i put the screen print into the media

Make sure that you’re saving the export file, not viewing it in your browser.
If that isn’t working for you in Firefox, try a different browser, like Chrome or Internet Explorer 9.

Okay!! I got the pages & posts (yippeee!) but it didn’t move my theme…
I can live with that – thank you thank you sooooo much, Bryan, if my honey wouldn’t object (but alas he would) I’d have your baby – you ROCK! Macmanx, I thought because the file didn’t display it was corrupt, you told me to go for it as saved and it worked.
I’m happy, happy, much gratitude to you Happiness Engineers!

Hello
MY blog currently no backup, or simply put I have not made a backup of it.
http://www.NutritionUCGIBlog.comQuestion:
1. How do I get a full backup copy of my Blog (which is hosted on WordPress.com)?2. Would I be able to load all this back into wordpress blog again?
3. Also would I be able to backup all images in the library (jpg or pdf)
4. Can I load the backup to another Blog if and when needed, example if I decided to host somewhere else
thank you

See > export > http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
2. Would I be able to load all this back into wordpress blog again?
Yes. You can import the XML export file you created in a WordPress blog into a WordPress.com blog or into a WordPress.org install.
3. Also would I be able to backup all images in the library (jpg or pdf)
The images are attachments. When you import you rceive a query as to whether you wish to include attachments or not.
4. Can I load the backup to another Blog if and when needed, example if I decided to host somewhere else.
Yes. You can import the XML export file you created in a WordPress blog into a WordPress.com blog or into a WordPress.org install.

@nnadine — You’re welcome! The export file, as you found out, won’t include the theme and settings, and you’ll need to manually copy your widget settings. I’d suggest opening your WordPress.com blog Appearance -> Widgets page in one browser tab while your self-hosted blog has the same dashboard page open.
You can download the Matala theme here, if you’d like:
