Need blog header to be smaller

  i’m using the wordpress twenty eleven theme and i would like the blog’s header to be quite a bit smaller. Could someone please help me with this?

  This is a little complex and it will also take away the automatic resizing of the header image when you make your browser window narrower. Do you want to lose that functionality?
