Need box for "subscribe to my newsletter"

  I have the html required, but cannot figure out what tool to use to get this to appear. I have tried a text box widget, but that just actually shows the html code.
  I am not very tech savvy. Help!

  Due to restrictions at WordPress.com, you can’t insert a form to subscribe to your newsletter.

  However, a regular link to the form (hosted elsewhere) will work just fine.

  Can’t you just use a contact box & include an option for the person to click a button that says “subscribe to the newsletter”? I know it’s not automated, but if the user can add the subscriber manually, it would work.
