Need cartoon/essay combined theme list for students

Themes: Could you please suggest a list of themes for my students who will start their own blogs? This is a writing course WITH a cartoon strip above each essay. The cartoon strips need to be 3-4 panels wide so themes with one column seem most appropriate. When I search for ONE COLUMN THEMES (both free and premium), I find many themes with multiple columns. Maybe I’m not searching correctly, or these themes are easily customized. Please view my blog (AnimatedTruth.com) to see the style of cartoon/essay I am trying to fit into an appropriate theme. I will gladly buy a premium theme for myself but I would like to start my students with the free version options. Thank you so much for your help!

Hi there, Can you students create one image that contains all three panels? That’s your best bet. Then, you can choose just about any theme and then just Add Media to place their cartoon strip above each essay.
In fact, your site’s front page is using a full-page, 1-column format, so multiple columns aren’t necessary for them either.
If they don’t have access to software like PhotoShop to make one JPG out of each 3-panel strip, they can use a free online application such as http://pixlr.com/.

Thank you, Robyn, for that link for my students. Concerning themes, are you saying I can stretch a 3-panel strip (large enough to read the speech balloons) in something other than a 1-column theme? I thought it would scrunch up and narrow the cartoon strip to fit into a 3-column theme.

Hey there. Sorry, I should have been much clearer — you can use either a one-column theme or a theme that offers a full-page template. Some themes may have a multi-column default, but allow you the option to choose a full page width option. I didn’t want you to think you were limited to a search for one-column themes only.
