Need clarification on subdomains

  Hello, hoping I can get some clarification on how subdomains work. Say I buy the domain- myname.com through WordPress. Can I then set up a series of blogs as bloga.myname.com – blogb.myname.com – blogc.myname.com – etc.

  Do I have to pay anything extra for the subdomains? I don’t want the subdomains to redirect to somewhere else, I want them to be stand alone blogs.

  Does this help? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/ From what I can see you will require domain mapping to each sub-domain and that means paying for a domain mapping upgrade for each sub-domain. I suggest you confirm this with Staff > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
