Need for Roost Push Notifications

Here is the link to the plugin that I think should be featured on WordPress.com – https://wordpress.org/plugins/roost-for-bloggers/.
I believe this feature of push notifications can significantly improve a blog’s viewership and viewer’s loyalty. As a sports new website, my blog needs to be able to access our fans as soon as we break a story. The only way to do that is to wake the reader up and say, “look here: We have it covered”. I get several sports push notifications from websites like FanSided and Bleacher Report each day, and I think my website should have the same capabilities to send these notifications without having to transplant myself to a non-WordPress.com hosted server. Thank you.

Hi there!

Thanks for the suggestion. If the need for this plugin starts to gain traction we will definitely look into seeing if it could be provided for our user all across the board.

That’s nice but using this thread to promote your plugin is unnecessary as Staff know how to locate you already.

I agree, I think it could greatly benefit the readership and could both improve the image of WordPress and of Roost. Timethief, despite the truth you have spoken, it will be a win win situation if it is implemented and there is clearly a desire from both parties. Know that a rarity isn’t ever.

Here at WordPress.com we subscribers all control the frequency of receipt of posts from all blogs hosted here that we choose to follow.

i love push notifications on blogs. i find subscribing to blogs much easier via push notifications as compared to conventional emails or RSS.

in fact, i have push notifications enabled on my blog and i also have a post dedicated to the future of desktops where i see push notifications having a great future to keep us brimming with news and information.

@soupal02 i’ll leave it to the creators of roost to decide that. not everyone understands the vision of push notifications. that much i understand.
