Need for separate site activation for Google etc. for $97

Set up WordPress website on 1/29. Understood I needed to wait 72 hours before seeing website listed on Google. Got an email from “site activate” to get listed on Google, Yahoo, Bing — wanted $97. A scam – or do I need a separate activation to get on search engines?

It takes 4 to 6 weeks for a new site to be indexed by search engines, and that is only if you have something on your site worth indexing. Currently you don’t have anything on your site worth indexing.
You need to add content to your site, fix the empty Pages and add some Posts. Posts call up the search engines and ask them to stop by.

You can also register your site with search engines, registration is not required and once you start adding content to your blog, search engines will start showing up
