need ftp

Hello. I understand some on my old content has been erased because the ‘plug-ins’ are too old. My graphic designer says she need the FTP. I am not sure what she means but how to I get those? Also **very important** – I have posted a question here before and someone kindly gets back to me over email – but then when I try to reply to that email I get a failure delivery message because it can’t find the address. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here aswell. thank you for your help

The site I need help with is allistonchiropractor.wordpress.com.

  • You need a paid Business or eCommerce plan to use plugins and FTP here, and the site you listed has always been on the free plan.

What is the URL of the site with the problem?

    The URL is allistonchiropractor.com

Sorry I must be confused. Are you telling me that with the free plan there is no way to fix my images that disappeared due to plug-ins being incompatible? I must have that wrong because it seems totally unreasonable. My graphic designer uses wordpress for many of her clients and she says she can’t fix mine unless she has the FTP. (more info…..my homepage used to have an image depicting neck and back pain. It disappeared a while ago. Only the text remains now. I was advised by Bluehost that my plug-ins for that picture were no longer compatible. They said contact WordPress. My graphic designer says this is common and she deals with this a lot with her wordpress clients but she needs the FTP in order to do anything. Thank you for your help. I will be back tomorrow.

  • Ah, ok, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

And, your hosting provider has instructions for setting up FTP under them at https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/intro-to-ftp
