Need help

    I am trying to pay our company hosting bill with WordPress. The company website was shut down. The person who was doing this has left the company with all security info.
    Under these circumstances, does anyone know any manner to contact WordPress to pay our bill?

    Hosting at wordpress is generally auto-renewed at the end of an yearly subscription.

  • I’ll add modlook on this post to get staff attention for this. Time is crucial here.
    Generally there is a grace period of 10 days or so to get the expired domain renewed.

    Hi jwgarrett7,

    Upgrades can only be renewed through the account that purchased them. Are you able to contact this person? If so, please ask them to renew the upgrade or login and reply here so we can look at transferring the domain mapping upgrade to another account.

    The site was shut down today.

    Domain mapping is no longer working but the content still exists.

    @ahmadbaig007 — the domain is mapped to WordPress.com in this case so the grace period for expired domains does not apply :)

    I am not able to contact the person. That is the difficulty. We are simply trying to pay the hosting bill to WordPress and reinstate our website. But the person who had the info has left the company and is not providing the needed info to pay our bill to wordpress. I am trying to get the account transferred to me and the needed amount that must be paid to pay the bill. Thank you.

    Your account is not even a user on that site, so there is no way that we can let you make any changes to upgrades on that site. We also cannot transfer the account to you under any circumstances, unless you are able to provide information that proves you own the account via our account recovery form:

    Recover Your Account

    If you’re unable to provide such verification, and you cannot contact the current owner of the domain mapping upgrade, the only option is to wait for the expired upgrade to be removed from the site, and then the other admin on the site will be able to add it again.
