Need help accessing SFTP

Hi,
I’m the content manager for our websites and i’m acting as the go between with our current webmaster and the company creating our new sites. As our current guy is part time, he’s not as timely in responding to questions/issues that regularly arise, and we are having some problems connecting to our ftp that i am trying to resolve. I use Transmit and haven’t had any issues, but he recently changed the username and password so the new folks could access the files for data migration. Unfortunately, they have only been able to access one of our sites.
Accessing the servers is a pretty cut-and-dry process, but accessing two of our sites’ ftps are proving problematic and I don’t know enough about the technical side of this to try and solve the issue myself so i’m reaching out to see if someone can help.

Please note that you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We’re only able to help on sites that are hosted on our servers here.
It sounds like you might instead be using the open source WordPress software, made by the community on WordPress.org, at another hosting provider. In that case, your hosting provider is best for help with any issues involving FTP, as that’s entirely in their control.
