need help accessing site

I transferred my domain to Shopify without realizing I would lose access to my wordpress admin dashboard. *doh* Since the URL is now pointed to Shopify whenever I go to mydomain/wp-admin it just redirects to the Shopify and I get a 404.

Is there any way to access my old site?

And if not, how can I go about canceling my WooCommerce account, Jetpack subscription, and any other subscriptions associated with my WooCommerce shop?

The original domain was wildheartsmarket.com, but of course now it’s pointed to the Shopify site. It was hosted on DreamHost, but of course I removed that hosting too during the domain switch to Shopify. *double doh*
If it helps I did come across this old domain while searching for records: wildheartsclub409783749.wordpress.com, but I get an error when trying to access it.

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Unknown
    Correct account: Unknown

    Hello there,

Wildheartsclub409783749.wordpress.com appears to have been deleted.

Do you intend to recover it?

If so, It is important to be aware that you can only reverse a website’s deletion within 30 days after it has been closed.

The thread has been also tagged for staff attention.

    :)

  • Hi,

Just to clarify, did you have paid subscriptions/upgrades? for WooCommerce or Jetpack?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I have a paid subscription for Jetpack.

Reversing the deletion would be amazing! How can I go about doing that?

I know Jetpack runs backups, but I can’t access Jetpack either since the admin portal is within WordPress.

  • Hi there, I can confirm the site was not hosted here; instead, it was a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

If you still have access to the old hosting provider and the files are there, you can regain access by changing your domain’s name servers again to point back to your old hosting provider.

Please keep in mind that when a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers worldwide. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, your domain may not be available, may go to its old location, or you may receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors.”

If you still have trouble viewing the site after 24 hours have passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache: https://www.refreshyourcache.com/

If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache: https://www.whatsmydns.net/flush-dns.html

If you no longer have access to the old hosting provider or have already deleted the site through them, I have good news, as the site did have a Jetpack plan that provides backups.

The latest backup is from September 23 and can be downloaded from https://wordpress.com/backup/www.wildheartsmarket.com?date=20220923 but you will need to be logged in as the account which owned the plan, which is not the account you’re currently logged in as.

After you’re satisfied with your downloaded backup, you can cancel the Jetpack plan from https://wordpress.com/me/purchases and WooCommerce subscriptions from https://woocommerce.com/my-account/my-subscriptions/

Please let us know if you have any more questions!
