Hi There,
The plugin that you have found is for the self hosted WordPress sites which can install plugins at WordPress.org. With a WordPress.com site the widgets, plugins, etc are already pre-installed for you. You can add in a widget, but the one you are looking for is not available at WordPress.com.To view what is available and add a Widget, you can go to My Sites – Customize – Widgets, then choose the location you wish to add it to, such as “Side Bar” and then click Add a Widget. You will then see the list of available widgets.
You can also look through the support pages regarding widgets and you may be able to find a widget that does something similar for you.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=widgets On the right toward the bottom you can see information pages regarding all of the available widgets.Hope this helps,

Thanks for that. Does that mean that I need to upgrade my WordPress page in order to add the .org plugins?
Or do I just have to use what’s on the .com site?I can’t find a widget on the wordpress.com site that does what I want- a simple calendar where days can be colour-filled to indicate if they are free or booked. I really don’t like Google calendar.
Any advice? It’s just to keep tabs on a shared family holiday home, not for commercial use.
