Need help adding blog posts under different menus

I have my home page (which I am still editing) – but under recipes, I have one recipe written so far, but I don’t know how to create additional posts so list more recipes.

I would also like that when I create a new post under any tab “recipes”, “nutrition & wellness”, “fitness”, etc. that it shows up as the most recent post on my Home page, then when you click, it will go straight to the post.

Please help! my page is kalemecarly.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi kalemecarly,
I think I understand that when someone clicks the top menu item “Recipes” you want all your recipes listed with the most recent on top, right?
If so, go to customizer > menu (primary) > add items > categories , then add your recipe category.
For the homepage, go back into Customizer, choose “Static Front Page” and set the radio button to “Most recent Posts.”

Let me know if that works.

    hi,
OK, but if I want my blog posts to show up under different menu items how do I do this. If we take kalemecarly’s blog for example. If she writes one blog post and wants it to show up under “recipes” and then she writes another blog post and wants it to show up under “fitness” how can she be assured that the blog post shows up where she wants it?

I have already made different menu items as you explained above. I have the menu items “7b”, “8b”, “9b”, etc. which are classes of students. Right now when I write a blog it shows up my home page, but I want to post different blog posts to different pages. How do I make sure I am posting the blog to the right page?

    Hi @tinasenglishblog,
    That’s a great question…
…so, what you are asking is the right way to use WordPress…
In WordPress there are pages, posts and custom post types, generally speaking.
Pages are best thought of of as semi-permanent or enduring content. One of one type. E.G. About Me, Contact Me, Services, Products, etc.
Posts are “one of many” types, like one Post of a recipe is one of many recipes, or one grammar lesson is one of many grammar lessons.
You can make your home page have permanent intro content (page), then show a number of your most recent posts, or just show recent posts.
Categories is a nice way to segment your content, so that when you create menu items some of your menu items can be links to pages and some can be links to categories of posts, like recipes or nutrition topics etc.
Here is a WordPress.com article on the subject https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
    Does that help?
