Hello, @drjilldavis! I’ll be happy to help you with this. 🙂
To achieve what you’re describing, you can insert a Columns block (set to 50/50) at the bottom of the template where you’d like the navigation buttons to appear. You can insert a column block by following this guide:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/
Then, add the Previous Post block in the left column and the Next Post block in the right column. This way, your visitors can easily navigate through your posts. Here’s a screenshot for reference:

Feel free to give that a try and let me know how it goes! And if you’re trying to achieve something slightly different or have any questions along the way, you’re more than welcome to share more details. I’ll be happy to help you further.

Thank you for your quick response. I was able to add it to the home page, and they show up in edit mode, but when I view it live, the previous and next do not show up.
Again, thanks for your help!

Sorry I can’t get the screen shot of live mode to load but you can see the live mode on my site. The previous and next buttons are not there.

Hello again, @drjilldavis! 🙂
It’s so nice to hear that you were able to add the next and previous post buttons! However, I understand that they’re not showing up on your live site, right?
In this case, I recommend checking if the buttons were added to the correct template. It looks like your homepage might be using the Page template, so you’ll want to add the buttons there. Here’s a guide that explains how to edit that template:
https://wordpress.com/support/templates/edit-the-page-template/
Please feel free to follow these steps, and let me know how it goes!

I am using the Blog Page template and it was added there. But, it still does not show up on my live page.

I am using the Blog Home template and it was added there. But, it still does not show up on my live page. Maybe it cannot go on the Blog home page?
I tried adding it to the Pages template, and it did not show up. I went back to my 2 posts and manually added it, and that worked. I was hopeful I would not have to manually add it, though.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us, @drjilldavis! After taking a closer look, we were able to resolve it by adding pagination to the Query Loop block. You can find more details on how to do this here:
Now your visitors can easily navigate through your posts. 🙂
