Need help changing domain from WordPress to Weebly
-
WordPress.com is just a blogging platform, not a hosting provider, so you can’t build a site here with an external tool.
Your A record has been successfully updated.
When a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, you may also receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors”. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your internet service provider updates their records. Please rest assured that everything is proceeding normally with your domain.
If you still have trouble viewing the site after 72 hours has passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies
If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache: http://www.opendns.com/support/article/68

HI there, thanks for your email, none of which makes any sense to me, so can we go back to my previous post and can you please advise how to get this information:
Thanks, I’ve followed those instructions and received the authorisation code by email, but I don’t know what to do next… Weebly is asking for information that is not contained in that email, it’s saying I need “I need to create A-Records for “www” and for my root domain. That’s one record for “www” pointing to 199.34.228.59. And one record for the root domain pointing to 199.34.228.59. “
Where do I get this information?
Thanks very much.

HI MacManx, that’s kind thank you; I’m sorry, but I’m completely lost (I’m a complete beginner), because when I try to use my domain name on Weebly, it tells me that it’s registered elsewhere… Are you telling me I just have to keep checking over the next 72 hours and eventually it will become available on Weebly? Thanks & regards!

Exactly, when a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world. Hi MacManx,
I’ve done what you suggested I do above – ie waited 72 hours, still not able to view site, have cleared cache & cookies and cleared DNS cache; still can’t see site; please can you advise what I should do now.
Thanks & regards,

At http://www.dandelionphotographybyjess.com/ here’s what I see: http://d.pr/i/fj1j/5WnZ4omz
If clearing your browser and DNS cache made no difference, I recommend resetting your modem and/or router.

Oh, sorry. This is why folks should create their own support threads. :)
At http://www.flipantiques.com/ here’s what I see: http://d.pr/i/PNPH/4FHKTQv7
It appears to be a Weebly site, or at the very least, it’s no longer a WordPress.com site.

I created a website with Weebly and need to point my domain to their servers. Can you set this up for me or walk me through the process of making these changes? I need to create A-Records for “www” and for my root domain. That’s one record for “www” pointing to 199.34.228.59. And one record for the root domain pointing to 199.34.228.59.
If you need more info on these changes, please see:

Note that I want to keep using you as my domain registrar. I am not requesting a transfer and do not have new name servers to provide you.
Thanks!

Would you please open your own thread so we don’t have any confusion like we did earlier?
