Need help changing to wordpress.org and web hosting

Hello, I currently am using wordpress.com — I bought the domain for my blog a few months ago and want to switch to wordpress.org to self host and use bluehost (which I have also bought) – but I am unable to figure out how to switch to wordpress.org and was wondering if someone could help? Thanks!

Hi Michelle,
This guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if itâs right for you:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/
As for the domain itself, you can keep it registered with us and just point the nameservers to your new host with these steps:
You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)
Just note that this means your domain is still registered through us and just hosting elsewhere. So you would need to keep the registration renewed yearly with us in addition to your new host. After 60 days from the date of registration you can transfer out your domain elsewhere (there is a lock placed on newly registered domains as per ICANN rules). When that time comes, the guide below explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar, including how to access the authorization (EPP) code:
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
