Need help contacting WordPress to delete a domain that has our church name

  The domain is malachi4tabernacle.com. There was a couple who used to attend our church assembly and were kind enough to help with the website. It is currently being paid by the church automatically I think. So we made a new domain with .org instead of. Com. I tried contacting one of them to give us the info so we could take down malachi4tabernacle.com. help please!

  Hi there!

  I can’t help you remove a site you do not already own. Your best option is to contact the couple that owns it again.

  A whois shows a name, phone & address – several ways to contact – assuming they did not leave in a huff – they might have just forgotten or gotten bored with things – is they did not leave in a huff most folks are happy to help

  Hi,

  I’m the media director at my church. While I understand the idea of deleting/canceling a domain, I have three reasons not to.

  1.) Because you probably have already directed internet traffic to that domain, you can hurt your SEO for your church’s website. SEO is important in helping drive traffic via search engines like Google.

  2.) Why not use two domains? Use the .COM as a secondary domain. That’s what I do for my blog and for my church. When one domain is typed the official domain takes over. All you have to do is point your DNS Nameservers to your current website host.

  3.) If you cancel your .COM domain and then decide later that you really wanted it… there is no guarantee that it will exist. Sometimes, when a domain is let go, it can take anywhere from 45 to 90 days for it to reappear for purchase.
