    Hello all!

Im really a beginner when it comes to css and I tried going step by step to create an e-mail newsletter on my blog but without any luck. I cant even find the place where I`m supposed to change the codes. Would anyone be nice enough to do it for me or help me out?

    Thank you!

    Cynthia

You can’t use WordPress.com to create a fancy HTML-styled email newsletter. You can add the Email Subscription button and then each of your posts will be mailed to subscribers, but that’s about it.

If you want to do fancy styled HTML e-newsletters, use Mail Chimp or Constant Contact or something similar.

Your blog (the one linked to your username) has only one post.

You can use your new(ish) blog to make posts for people to read which would be a ready way for all sorts of folk to read about your travels.

As far as creating a newsletter, I’m not sure what you mean? Do you already have some sort of mailing list which you want to use to contact them about your adventures? If so, then you could just email those friends directly. Or are you hoping to make a blog so others will find your posts to read?

Your blog readers can subscribe to your new blog via RSS or via email subscriptions.

    I’m a slow typist…

But if the OP is using a theme with active excerpts, then the email subscriptions can go out with formatting (for many common email agents, including gmail and hotmail) provided he/she uses the custom excerpt function.

Oh, I didn’t know that! Interesting, thanks.

The formatting will be different for the various email software (is that the right term?) but the ones I’ve tried do show the excerpts with some sort of formatting including (linkable) images. One doesn’t have complete print-ready control over how it appears, but one can customize what goes out with the text for certain. Not just a random first few lines of text: can be a teaser sort of thing.
Also, I don’t think (but not sure) that embedded videos or gigya codes will work…

Actually Im a travel agent and have a list of customers to whom Id like to send out information about traveling as well as our specials. Thanks for recommending Mail Chimp…I think that should do the job!

Thanks to all of you for your help :)

    Aye and welcome.

Just a note about how the apostrophe works here in these forums:
When you want to use a real apostrophe, then the key to use is the lower case version of the quote marks, after the colon : and semicolon key ;.
If you use the key next to the 1 and ! key, well, it looks like and apostrophe but is actually a sort of html code type key. In this forum, that is the key you use to make html code visible.
Its uppercase version is “~~~~~” which sort of is like a wave.

Just a niggle, but if you ever decide to learn html, then the difference is significant.

Also, by using ‘ for the apostrophe you questions here will be easier to understand, and look the way you expect.

At any rate, we volunteers have been glad to to useful.
