Need Help Creating Menu Heirarchy (and deleting abnormality)

    How can I delete stacked vertical menu on the bottom of my Home page – https://txdeutsch.home.blog/
    My main menu is repeating in stacked vertical format.
    I’ve assigned main menu to footer and primary menu locations.
    The stacked menu does not show up on editable version of Home page.
    It does show when I select Appearance > Menus from the (customization?) screen.
    I think this may be the vestiges of another theme I tried that wasn’t deleted when I changed themes..
    It seemed really hard to get rid of items created in one theme when moving to another one.
    I had to delete all pages and posts in order to try to clear everything out.

    I’m also having trouble figuring out how to create submenu items.
    I have 3 basic categories with images on my home page that are linked to 3 corresponding separate pages.
    I want to have subpages for each of those 3 pages, and want to create menus that show all the linked page possibilites.
    How can I do that?
