Need help customizing the Digg 3 Theme (colors)
-
Hi Guys, I just signed up today and I have been slightly overwhelmed by all the functions and settings and so forth.
My request/question is, how do I change the colors on the Digg 3 Theme, its way too bright for my liking, and I think that this site which is also based on the Digg 3 Theme is awesome: http://dstroyr.wordpress.com/
This site is my source of inspiration and I would like something along those lines, of course not an exact copy!
Can someone point me in the right direction?
I have read all of the stickys, but I really only know html.
It is greatly appreciated! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade, which will allow you to stylize the themes here like changing colors, but it does not allow you to change the functionality.
Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, do not buy the upgrade unless you have CSS editing experience and can work independently. Before buying the upgrade, you can go to appearance > edit CSS and wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try out changes before you buy the upgrade.

As you are new to wordpress.com also note > types of blogs allowed and not allowed at wordpress.com http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/ and http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/

I have already bought the upgrade, as the colors definitely need changing, experience or not, and I know there is no staff support, which is why I want to change the theme before I start using the site :) I just need colors changed, I know how to change the header and the functionality of the theme is spot on.

Okay then you will have to wait until a Volunteers who helps with CSS logs in and finds this thread. In the meanwhile perhaps you would like to read this >
The common mistake 98% of people who have the CSS upgrade make when modifying a theme is to paste the WHOLE theme’s CSS code in the CSS Editor. DO NOT DO THAT! Read more > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/

I have already read that ;)
I tried changing some colors myself, but I saw no change whatsoever -
That’s too bad. this is a peer support forum and we don’t have many Volunteers who help with CSS. The Volunteer who usually answers these questions doesn’t appear to be logged in at this time. He works fulltime and it’s the weekend so I have no idea when he may appear here again.

I will keep trying, I am searching the forums atm, trying to find an old topic :)
Thanks for your help! -
