Need Help Directing Sharing Buttons to Proper URL
-
I created my blog at http://www.thesportscholar.wordpress.com. I then went to godaddy.com and purchased thesportscholar.com domain name and purchased mapping through WordPress. All is fine with that. However, I just added the Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Digg, Stumble Upon sharing buttons that WordPress offers after each post and when they are used they direct users to http://www.thesportscholar.wordpress.com. How do I change it so it directs users to http://www.thesportscholar.com? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
http://thesportscholar.com/ should be working properly.
It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.
Please let us know if you have any more questions!

It’s working fine because I switched the primary URL back to thesportscholar.wordpress.com

Ah, my mistake, it looks like the nameservers on thesportscholar.com are still pointed elsewhere: http://whois.domaintools.com/thesportscholar.com
In order for the domain mapping to work properly, the nameservers will need to be pointed here per this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
The same 72 hour (max) propagation period will apply.

Thank you. That fixed that. Do you know if I could change the link that is tweeted when the Twitter share button is used? I don’t want it to use a WordPress shortener.

No, unfortunately that can’t be changed at this time, but I’ll pass it on to our team for consideration.
