Need help finding a basic common theme

  I need a theme for a static front page where I can put a page title, a large photo at the top, a menu of tabs or links to my other pages, and then 1 column of plain text below it. Pretty much a very common front page type. I’ve viewed 50 of your themes and can’t find 1 that will do that. The ones I click on only let me upload a background photo, not an actual photo to go at the top of the page and stay there.

  In addition, at the main themes page, numerous of the themes indicate that they do the above as they have a photo at the top – e.g. https://trywordpress12.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?theme=pub/twentytwelve – yet when I actually click on the link to test drive the theme, the photo is gone.

  Please send me links to several themes you have that meet our needs. We will sign up for the $99 annual premium pack if I find a theme that suits our needs. I’ve already spent a ton of time searching your site. If you don’t email some themes, I’m going to give up on you and use ipage or another site instead. I have 2 other sites I’m planning on doing, and all 3 need the standard theme type I’m referring to above. Thanks, Peter

  a) In several themes the header image is optional: the theme won’t display a header image unless you upload a header image after you activate the theme.
  b) Each theme has different header image dimensions, so if you upload a header image then switch to a different theme, the image cannot be retained: you have to re-upload it for the new theme.
