Need help for my friends…

Hi, I just want to help my friend. He has been trying to simply post a new topic but it keeps saying that the topic has been closed for new replies, and that the last post was 42 years ago.
Please help? He has been making new topics for 5 + times..

Please help, all he wants to do is simply post questions. He already has a blog up, though no content.
He can just create a new account, perhaps his current account is simply considered by the bot to be a spam user…which is not…he is a real person.
So, what can be done nwo?

I apologize – there is no edit button.
Basically…..from his point of view, he can at least post comments to existing topics. But when I try to see it from my point of view, it just isn’t there. So basically he cannot do anything, he is feeling so isolated!
So, is he flagged as a spam now, by WP? Because I can post topics just fine, but he cannot.

Yes, if he cannot post questions in the forum or on blogs, he’s flagged as spam. He needs to contact Akismet and get un-flagged.
It’s possible the forum has a filter for new people without blog posts who post a lot of questions; that’s the classic M.O. of a spammer. So, since he has you to post for him, tell him to go through this: http://learn.wordpress.com and then get you to ask ONE question. And meanwhile, start blogging.
If he contacts Akismet, starts blogging, and reads the blogging instructions, he will probably then be in a much better position. Not only will he not be spam, but I bet most of his questions will be answered already.

Hmm, he is a genuine real person, why was he flagged as spam? He has done nothing, basically. Just registered for blog…then wanted to ask some questions, thats all.
May I ask what akismet’s contact info is?

I want to post his questions here, but I am so scared I will be flagged as a spam next… -_-
So, what should I do? I have told him to just read the learn wordpress com and wait.
I am just waiting to get akismet’s contact info. He has also emailed support@wordpress.com for help.

Like I said, if someone with no blog posts at all suddenly posts a flurry of new threads to the forum, that’s classic spammer behaviour and I wouldn’t be surprised if it automatically flags him as spam.
GOOGLE for Akismet’s contact info.

He still cannot post/create new topics.
I told him to go to http://akismet.com/contact/ and he filled out the form. Just waiting for a reply from Akismet.
I hope he gets unflagged…he is just a normal user who wants to ask some questions and help answer others’ posts if he can….and blog with WP just like anybody else..

I’m not sure you’re listening.
He should STOP trying to post new topics. As long as he keeps trying before being un-spammed, it will only make him look like a worse spammer.
IF he has questions, he should read that thread I posted and search in the forum for answers; most of the questions we get asked have already been asked and answered multiple times.
If he has not yet made a blog post, it is unlikely he knows WordPress.com well enough to provide answers. He should start blogging.

Well at the moment he is just waiting for akismet’s reply.
I truly hope he gets unflagged as a spammer.

He just got an email back from Akismet – he is not flagged.
He told me to post here because it is most likely forum issue, he is not flagged.
So yes. Mark, the guy from Akismet, told me to post here because he cannot be of an help.

You are right in that he has most of his questions answered, but apparently has 2 more.
1. Is it possible to make a good, decent blog using the free version of WP?
2. What does “Self-hosted” WP mean? Is it the version where you have to pay?
That is all. So..basically he will be like this forever? Even akismet says he is fine. should I just wait for a reply from support@wordpress.com, then?

1) yes
2) Self-hosted means not on WordPress.com. It means buying hosting from somewhere else and installing software from WordPress.ORG. The two kinds of WordPress are totally separate and work differently.
If it’s just the forum problem, he should follow my instructions above and get blogging. Bloggers with blog posts at WP.com are sometimes suspended from the forums (it happened to me yesterday, for answering too many questions too fast) but it doesn’t last long. But WP has no reason to un-suspend someone who doesn’t even have a blog here. So tell him to register one and start blogging.
