Need help formatting page containing text and image, Origin theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m having a hard time getting a static page to look well-formatted; I’ve tried aligning and adding padding using <table> and <div> but just couldn’t get it to where it needs to be. I’m using the free Origin theme. I’d like to:

    1.) make text and image top aligned vertically
    2.) add 100px gutter between text and image
    3.) display the image at its original size of 600×600 (don’t know what it displays larger)

    Also, how can I make sure the content is aligned with the header image on the left and the nav bar on the right?

    If anyone is willing to whip up a bit of code to help me along I would be most grateful!! Thanks so much in advance!

    Hi there, let’s do #3 first.

    3. I checked your image code and it says it is being displayed at 600px square and verified that in my browser. Right now the image is set up to link to the original full-sized image if it is clicked on. If you do not want the image clickable, open that page in the editor, click on the image and then click on the edit button and in the Link To pulldown, select None.

    For #1 and 2, you will want to add the following inline CSS styling to that image.

    style="margin-top: 0; margin-left: 100px;"

    You will want to put that into the img src code, right towards the end. Here would be the finished code for that image.

    a href="http://kelihopter.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/livingroomdesign1.jpg"><img alt="LivingRoomDesign" src="http://kelihopter.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/livingroomdesign1.jpg?w=940" class="size-full wp-image-471 alignright" style="margin-top: 0; margin-left: 100px;"></a>
