Need help gaining access to dashboard
-
The recovery process does not seem to work. My name is David Forbes, and I’m the brother-in-law of Wade Fowler, who is the site owner. I built a basic setup for him to promote his books. I went to edit the theme today and got booted out because of an inactive login, but when I tried to log back in the site did not accept the email addresses or passwords I tried.
I have an older WordPress login but his site is not listed there.
Using Wade’s email address to login — which should be the correct one — takes me to what I believe is an older site he started but never completed back in 2014. The current site of https://wadefowler.com is not listed anywhere. However, the page itself is live! But there are no icons that say ‘click here to edit page’ like I am used to seeing.
Any advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
David Forbes

Hi there,
I do not see any upgrades under your @fowlrman62 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/.
Is it possible you made your purchase under a different login? I can confirm that wadefowler.com is registered at WordPress.com but is under a different account and not your @fowlrman62 login.
If you do not recall how to log in to your other account you can fill out the form here to get assistance from our Account Recovery team: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
On that form you will be asked to provide a transaction ID for your purchase, which you can typically find on your credit card statement. More info on how to find that here: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

I’m trying to get the transaction ID from his CC statement.
When I log into my own account and click on “my sites” the icon just pulses and never finishes loading. The message states “Loading my sites” but it never finishes. That is the only other place it could conceivably be, but I’m guessing this means I actually don’t have any sites?
Is there anyway you can look at the wadefowler.com site and see the ID associated with it?

You appear to be posting from two different WordPress.com user accounts. The first (fowlrman62) has no WordPress.com or Jetpack connected sites. The second (dforbes99) has three Jetpack connected sites, but no WordPress.com sites. And none of them are connected to wadefowler.com.
Your best bet is going to be the account recovery information posted above.

The account recovery information keeps putting me in a password reset loop, which is not the problem.

It is likely that the email address you are trying to use is not the one associated with the website you are trying to access. I would encourage you to try other email addresses that could have possibly been used.
Otherwise, finding that transaction info to verify account ownership will be the fastest method.
