Need help getting in to edit website

    Hello! My name is Emily and I am the new director for Castaway Pet Rescue, Inc. We own the domain for CastawayPetRescue.org which has been typically kept up to date using a WordPress account. I go into this WordPress account, but it is not linked to the website, so I am stumped. I am completely new to website management but am trying to gain access to edit our website. How do I go about doing this? The previous director of our small organization did not give us any insight. Is there a way to get into this account? Do I need to completely start over? What are my options? Thank you!

    Hi Emily!
    It must be so frustrating to be in your shoes right now. I see that right now your site CastawayPetRescue.org is not working because the account it was linked to no longer has a plan or hasn’t paid for the domain connection. You can check which sites are linked to your account by going clicking on My Sites> Switch Site (if you have more that want)> Select the site you want to edit from the list

    If the ownership of the site is not linked to your account (castawaypetrescue), you can transfer the site from the owner’s account to yours following this steps: https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
    But, the transfer has to be accepted from the current owner’s email address. Hopefully, you can coordinate this to be done.
    I’m tagging staff, maybe they can give you further insight into the process.

    To access your site, you’ll need to go to CastawayPetRescue.org/wp-admin.
