Need help getting started

  • Unknown's avatar

I am a first time WP user – I want to set up a online store which sells industry equipment. I have 2 major customizations required.
    1. This is a B2B solution, so no payment gateway is required. During checkout, we need to initiate an RFC call to the SAP of the buyer’s organization.
    2. All users will have one pre-defined address to which the product will be shipped when ordered. This address cannot be changed.
Please let me know if this is achievable in WP ecommerce plugins. Thank you!

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hey there,

Happy to help you with this – and thank you for outlining some of your website goals from the get go.

    1. This is a B2B solution, so no payment gateway is required. During checkout, we need to initiate an RFC call to the SAP of the buyer’s organization.

Ok, so can you outline what an RFC and SAP are please? This may require a plugin or a call to an API.

Once we have that information, we’ll do our best to make a solid suggestion.

    2. All users will have one pre-defined address to which the product will be shipped when ordered. This address cannot be changed.

Ok, so this would require some customisation to lock that information down, once it’s been entered. You may wish to find a developer via https://partners.woocommerce.com/English/marketplace/ for that customisation.

I’d recommend using WooCommerce to run an online store, which is a plugin that can be used on the business plan.

This guide explains more about how WooCommerce works here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/introduction-to-woocommerce/ and this guide here explains how to get started with an online store: https://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/

Would you be willing to offer more context about the business and store you’re looking to build? This will help to guide you accordingly.

I hope this is useful so far.
