Need Help Hosting Questions

    O.K,. I have a domain and it is registered/hosted at Bravenet. However I redirect it to my wordpress blog. I like all the features, my theme etc. I am in no way a web builder the point click, copy paste of wordpress.com has been a good thing for me. But I want to place ads on my site. If I host it else where will I lose the abilty to be able to make changes here at wordpress.com how does that work? If I host it elsewhere will I have to change my redirect. I need help I don’t want the look, feel,functions to change and I like the widgets etc that I have I don’t want to loose them by hosting somewhere else. Why won’t wordpress.com not just sell hosting and make this all easier?

    If you host your blog elsewhere your blog will not work exactly the same way, that’s true. You may or may not be able to get the same theme. The functionality is much the same, except certain widgets are proprietary to WP.com. If fear of the difference is the only thing holding you back, go ahead and make the move. it’s easy.

    WordPress is a software company, not a hosting company. Why would they get into hosting?
